NEW YORK —
The New York League of Conservation Voters, which works to make environmental
sustainability a top political and policy priority in New York State, has
announced its endorsement of Cheryl Roberts for State Assembly in the 107th
District.
Roberts, a
prominent environmental attorney, has fought vigorously against the
environmental and social inequities that her constituency faces. Roberts’
environmental litigations include: defending the town of Middlefield against an
oil drilling company and assisting the City of Hudson with development and
passage of Hudson’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. Having been long
acquainted with issues that resonate with NYLCV, Roberts has played an
essential role in sustaining the health of New York State.
NYLCV’s
president, Maria Bystryn, stated, “Cheryl Roberts’ record shows her ability to
get positive environmental results for the Capital Region. Roberts is an
impressive candidate, an inspiring advocate and will be an invaluable ally for
the environmental community in the 107th Assembly District.”
"I am
honored to have won the endorsement of the New York League of Conservation
Voters in my race for the Assembly and promise its members and the people of
Rensselaer, Columbia and Washington counties that I will fight hard to protect
and preserve the environment, especially prime farmlands, in the 107th Assembly
District," said Cheryl Roberts, in response to the endorsement.
